An inner ring suburb of St. Louis, Webster Groves was founded as own city in 1892 due to its proximity to the Pacific Railroad line, and current overcrowding in the city of St. Louis. Named after Daniel Webster, Webster Groves is currently listed as one of the ten best cities for families to live in America, and one of the wealthiest cities in Missouri.

The city supports a population of more than 20,000, with five individual municipalities arranged near railroad sections including, Webster College-Eden, Theological Seminary Collegiate District, Central Webster Historic District, Marshall Place Historic District, Old Webster Historic District, Webster Park Residential Historic District.

Events mostly focus around the Big Bend railroad house, which sits on the Pacific railroad line, and can be visited to see the historic railroad. Annual arts events include the Lifetime Achievement in the Arts celebration, Paint Webster competition, Secret Gardens of Webster Tour, Art & Air, Old Orchard Gazebo series, the Missouri Chamber Music Festival, Old Webster Jazz and Blues Festival, the Awards of Excellence, Hixson Holiday House Tour, Webster Groves Community Days, Ivory Crockett Run, Old Webster Holiday Open House, and the Webster Groves Farmers Market.

Webster Groves also offers a wide variety of shops, live music venues, art galla’s, cafes, restaurants, and boutiques that most tourists and visitors will love. Because the city is among the top 100 best places to live in the U.S.A., it can be expected to be mostly quiet, family friendly, and peaceful. While not the best destination for tourists, the city is an excellent place for families, especially considering that it is home to multiple awarding winning schools, and is located nearby a top rated college. The town’s seasonal farmers market is an excellent place to view a historical market, or to purchase fresh food, and often also features local musicians playing for live crowds. 

The city is known for beautiful and clean streets, a focus on art and music in its lifestyle, and elm lined streets that offer beauty to the town year round. With the many festivals and activities, beautiful architecture, and multiple historic places, Webster Groves, called Webster by the Natives, is an excellent place to live.
